Chili Cook-off

On January 16th there was a “Church Wide Chili Cook-Off”
following the 11:00 P.M. service. Over four
hundred dollars was raised. $449.50 was raised.
The cook-off was won by Tracy Sherota.
(We're hoping to get her to share her recipe with us!)

This may become an annual event.

WE GOT THE RECIPE!

Tracy's 4 Bean Chili....
=====================================================

Ground Beef (lean)                                    Conecuh Sausage
Onions                                                         Bell Pepper
Garlic (several cloves-chopped or in jar.. 2-3 teaspoons)
Crushed tomatos                                       Diced tomatos
Tomato paste (small can)
Dark Red Kidney Beans                            Light Red Kidney Beans
Pinto Beans                                                 Black Beans
Garlic POWDER                                         Onion POWDER
Salt (to taste)                                               Black pepper (to taste)
Cumin (to taste)                                          Chili powder (to taste)
Water... however much you need to suit your taste for thickness

Brown beef. Drain grease. While beef is cooking, I mix together all the
beans, seasonings, tomatoe "stuff" in a separate LARGE pot. Add
vegetables then beef.  Add Conecuh last because it does not take long
to lose it's taste. (I quarter the sausage just to make sure every bite has
a taste.) Bring all ingredients to a rolling boil then simmer however long
it takes to get to the thickness/thiness that you like. Add or delete ANY
items that you do not like. ENJOY!!
